Connect AI Assistants to Funnelfeedr with MCP

What the Funnelfeedr MCP server is, which AI assistants can use it, and what they can do once connected

The Funnelfeedr MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT work directly with your Funnelfeedr data. Once connected, you can ask your assistant to build a prospect segment, look up companies you already know by name, read your lists and saved searches, and search your company knowledge base, all without leaving the chat.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to external tools. Funnelfeedr exposes a remote MCP server that any compatible client can connect to over HTTPS.

The quickest way to set it up is in Funnelfeedr itself: Settings → Data & integrations → MCP Connections has a Connect an AI assistant (MCP) card with the server address and step-by-step instructions per client. The user menu item Connect AI assistant (MCP) opens the same instructions in a dialog.

Server address

Use this URL when adding Funnelfeedr to an MCP client:

https://mcp.funnelfeedr.com/mcp

Enter it exactly as written. The server checks that the address the client connected to matches, so a different host or path will be rejected.

Supported clients

Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth can connect. We have verified:

  • Claude (claude.ai, Claude Desktop, Claude mobile and Claude Code)
  • ChatGPT (connectors and Deep Research)

Other clients that follow the current MCP specification should also work. See Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client for step-by-step instructions.

How authorization works

Funnelfeedr never hands out API keys for MCP. Instead, every connection goes through OAuth: when you add the server to your client, your browser opens Funnelfeedr, you sign in, and the approval screen lists what the client is asking to do. You approve all of it or nothing. The assistant then acts as you, in your account, with the permissions your Funnelfeedr role already gives you.

Read Authorizing an MCP client with OAuth for a full walkthrough of the approval screen and what each choice means.

What a connected assistant can do

A search is more than a filter list: you can describe what you are looking for in plain language, rank against an ideal customer profile, a scoring profile or a company you already like, exclude anything a filter can select, and narrow to companies nobody has touched yet or that are already in your CRM.

Writing is limited to lists, saved searches and ideal customer profiles. The assistant cannot push to your CRM, send email, place calls or delete anything.

Contact emails and phone numbers are masked unless your account has already revealed that contact in Funnelfeedr. The assistant can reveal them, and that is the one thing it does that costs money: it spends your account's credits at the normal reveal prices. It is deliberately hard to do by accident: revealing needs its own scope, which the approval screen lists separately, the assistant has to quote the exact cost before anything is charged, your client asks you to confirm, and at most 25 contacts go per call.

See MCP tools reference for all 25 tools, what a reveal costs, and which seats and permissions each tool needs.

Requirements

  • A Funnelfeedr user account. The assistant works with the same organizations, lists and permissions as your user.
  • For company search, contact search and lists: a Prospect seat assigned to your user. Every seat can look up companies, search the knowledge base and reveal contacts. See Seats.
  • For revealing contact details: credits on the account, and a connection that holds the Reveal scope. That depends on what your client asks for when it connects; connections made before revealing existed have to be reconnected.

If you belong to several accounts

A connection works in one Funnelfeedr account at a time. You choose which one on the approval screen, you can change it later under Settings → MCP Connections, and you can ask the assistant itself to switch. For a multi-account user, replies start with the name of the account they came from.

Managing connections

Every connection you approve is listed under Settings → MCP Connections in Funnelfeedr, where you can revoke it at any time. Access ends within about two minutes of revoking. See Managing MCP connections.
