Managing Call Sessions
Learn how to read the Call Sessions list, what the statuses mean, and how to start, join, resume, archive and delete sessions
Call Sessions under Dialer → Sessions lists every calling block in your account: the ones you are preparing, the ones being called right now, and the ones that are finished. Use it to pick up where you left off, join a colleague's session, and see how a session went.
Creating a session and calling through it is covered in Starting a Call Session. This guide is about the list itself.
1. The list
The list opens filtered on your own sessions. Both filters are remembered.
Filter by user: pick another user to see their sessions, or clear the field to see everyone's.
Status offers these choices:
| Filter | Shows |
|---|---|
| Relevant | Every session except archived ones (the default) |
| Draft | Sessions that have not been started |
| Active | Sessions being called right now |
| Completed | Sessions where no organization is left to call |
| Abandoned | Sessions everyone left while organizations were still waiting |
| Archived | Sessions you have archived |
Click the refresh icon to reload. Click any row to open the session view. Use the paginator at the bottom for 10, 25 or 50 rows per page.
2. Columns
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| User | Who owns the session |
| Name | The name given when the session was created, or Unnamed |
| Status | See the table above |
| Called by | The reps who have called in the session |
| Progress | Organizations handled out of the total. A note shows how many were skipped because they had nothing to dial |
| Success Rate | Share of the session's dispositioned calls that got a positive disposition. Empty until at least one call has a disposition |
| Duration | Total talk time across the session's calls. Set when the session ends |
| Started | When the session was started |
| Ended | When it was completed or abandoned. Empty while it is still open |
Which dispositions count as positive is set with the Type field on each disposition under Settings → Dialer. Meeting Booked and Interested are the usual ones; No Answer and Not Interested are not.
3. Session statuses
A session moves through these states:
- Draft: created but not started. Add organizations to it from a search or a list; a draft with no organizations cannot be started.
- Active: someone started it and reps are calling. Several reps can call in the same session, each on their own organizations. You are in one session at a time: starting, joining or resuming another one takes you out of the current one, which keeps running for any colleagues still in it.
- Completed: no organization is left to call. Funnelfeedr sets this by itself when the last one is handled.
- Abandoned: the last rep left while organizations were still waiting, or the account ran out of credits. This is the normal outcome when you stop for the day halfway through a list.
- Archived: you removed it from the default view. The calls and statistics remain.
When a session ends, Funnelfeedr sums the duration and credits of its calls and stamps the end time.
4. Actions
The buttons at the right of a row depend on its status.
New Session (header): creates an empty Draft named Call Session plus today's date and opens it. Add organizations to it from a search or list.
Start (Draft): opens Call Session Settings before calling begins:
- Phone number: the number you call from.
- Enable call recording: record the calls so they can be transcribed and analyzed afterwards.
- Enable realtime transcription: transcribe live during the call, which is what powers coaching and script tracking mid-call.
- Automatically set call disposition: shown when realtime transcription is on. The AI picks a disposition during the call and saves it when the call ends. You can change it afterwards.
- Call Script: shown when the account has active call scripts; see Building Call Scripts.
- Callbacks: Include my callbacks and Include team callbacks slot due callbacks from outside the session in ahead of the next stop.
An admin can lock some of these settings for everyone. If no phone number is available to you, the dialog says so and Start Session stays disabled; ask an admin to assign one.
Join (Active, when you are not in it): joins a session colleagues are calling in. The session's script, recording and transcription are shared; your callbacks and auto-advance are your own.
Resume (Abandoned): opens Resume session, where you choose whether to include callbacks, then takes you back into the session with the remaining organizations still in place.
Archive (Completed or Abandoned): hides the session from the Relevant view. Find it again under the Archived filter.
Delete: open the session and click Delete to remove it for good. This cannot be undone.
Tips
- Prefer Resume over a new session when you stopped halfway through a list: the progress, success rate and duration stay in one place.
- Organizations you called but did not reach go back into the caller's queue under Dialer → Queue, according to the What happens next choice made with each outcome. You don't need a new list of "the ones we never got hold of".
- Compare Success Rate across sessions that used the same list to see whether a new script or a different time of day made a difference.
- Delete old drafts you never started. They otherwise sit in the Relevant view forever.
